Lisa Sherman, Co-owner Lisa went straight from college into the retail industry in a family owned and operated retail business. Under her mother's guidance, Lisa began her career in sales and developed the skills required to own and operate a retail store centered on providing quality products and outstanding customer service. Lisa's interest in golf did not develop until later. After 20 years of retail management and ownership, Lisa decided to take up golf to relax and enjoy life. Living in a small town in Western Texas didn't seem like the best place to embark on this new life of fun and leisure, so Lisa packed her bags and moved to Monterey, California, world famous for golf. Soon after arriving and finding a great golf pro (who is now her business partner) to teach her the game, she saw a real need for women's golf apparel, equipment, and, of course, shoes. That is when Lisa entered into a joint venture with Katherine Nino (her golf pro) to open a retail store “specializing in women's golf” and offering everything needed to play this game from tee to green -- including great fashion wear, a wide selection of shoes, and all the necessary equipment required to play golf and look great at the same time. Hence the name of our store, From Tee to Green.
Katherine Nino, PH.D (c), Co-Owner Katherine is an LPGA teaching professional who began competing at an elite level of tournament golf at the age of fourteen. Katherine attended Stanford University on a full golf scholarship, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, as well as numerous Top 10 finishes in NCAA golf tournaments. Katherine holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and has completed all coursework toward her doctorate, with an emphasis on Sports Psychology. In addition to her golf and academic history, Katherine has worked as a mental health practitioner and has also held management positions in the corporate health services industry. As owner of The Golf Institute at Monterey Bay, Katherine has dedicated herself to her instructional and performance enhancement programs and workshops in Monterey since 1997. As co-owner of From Tee to Green, she is delighted to incorporate professional instruction, sports psychology and club-fitting to the broad array of services provided by this specialized golf store.
